Qatar Duty Free and Nestlé Bring Exclusive KitKat Japan Pop-Up to Doha Airport
Qatar Duty Free and Nestlé International Travel Retail have launched a limited-time KitKat 'Taste of Japan' activation at Hamad International Airport, featuring regional flavours and a Gachapon capsule-toy twist.
The exclusive pop-up opened on 10 August and will run for three months across three concourses at Hamad International Airport: South Node, North Node, and Central. Travelers can browse a dedicated range of KitKat Japan flavours, including Matcha, Blueberry Cheesecake, Tokyo Shima Lemon, and Otona no Amasa Dark Chocolate.
Shoppers who buy any two KitKat Japan items receive a complimentary Gachapon token, redeemable for an exclusive collectible inspired by Japanese capsule toy culture. The activation features Japanese-inspired design elements, with red accents, custom graphics, and illuminated gondolas showcasing the product line and branded merchandising.
The partnership between Qatar Duty Free and Nestlé underscores the growing appeal of destination-led, interactive retail experiences in travel hubs. By bringing Japan-themed flavours and a playful mechanic to Doha, the activation aims to engage international travellers with a sense of discovery and local cultural flair.
