Porsche Macan Turbo EV pairs 630 hp with a low-key crossover shape
The 2026 Porsche Macan Turbo EV is a two-row electric crossover with 630 horsepower and a 100-kilowatt-hour battery. Its performance drew praise in city, suburban and winding-road driving even as its styling attracted little attention.
In city and suburban use, the vehicle drew little notice from other drivers. Its grey paint, rounded roofline and SUV-like proportions helped it blend in, and no enthusiasts stopped to ask questions, unlike with other vehicles tested.
Passengers, including children taken to soccer practice, gave the acceleration high marks. The head-up display, a $2,660 option, reports G-forces that can approximate the pull of gravity. At 70 mph, pressing the accelerator produces a strong surge, according to the account.
The Macan came alive on winding roads, helped by four-wheel steering priced at $2,150. In Sport Plus mode, the air suspension lowers the vehicle.
The experience raised questions about whether a sports car must be visually extroverted or match the leaner look of its gasoline-powered sibling. It also suggested that anonymity can be useful in a vehicle this responsive and powerful.
