Miu Miu Opens Vinyl Club Pop-Ups Across Paris and Asia
Miu Miu has launched Vinyl Club, a series of temporary retail spaces in Paris and six Asian cities designed as record libraries rather than conventional shops. The pop-ups run through September and October with listening stations and fall/winter collection merchandise.
Each Vinyl Club site is staged as a record library, with album sleeves arranged in a square grid on the walls in the manner of vintage record collections. A listening station sits at the center of every location, equipped with a turntable, records in sleeves created for the project, and headphones and a speaker produced with Marshall. The format is intended as a meeting point where customers can play music of their choosing while browsing.
The pop-ups are opening in six Asian cities and Paris across September and October. The Paris location is at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann and runs from September 16 to October 10.
An online version of Vinyl Club is available on miumiu.com from September 17 to October 8. In China, it runs on WeChat from September 22 to October 22.
Merchandise is drawn from the Prada-owned label’s fall/winter collection, which mixes proportions, layering and print. Miu Miu describes the combinations as reflecting both its own aesthetic and the dress codes of modern musicians—casual clothing put together deliberately, with masculine and feminine as well as formal and informal registers placed side by side.
Two products are singled out in the collection. The Retour bag, made in nappa leather and suede, has a compact, boxy shape with rounded edges. The ballet flats developed with New Balance are built for softness and designed to work indoors and out.
