Missile Strike Ruins Kyiv Eveningwear Startup’s New Collection

Cili Nochi, an independent eveningwear label in Kyiv, lost its entire High Summer collection when a Russian missile hit a logistics facility near Kyiv in July, forcing the brand to start over.

The attack destroyed the collection while it was being held at a warehouse operated by Nova Poshta, a shipping company, before it was due to travel to New York. Co-founder Anastasia Bobrovska said the brand initially hoped some of the shipment had survived, but was eventually told that the items had burned and nothing could be recovered.

The High Summer collection had been prepared for shipment to a New York warehouse, with pieces in transit when the missile struck. The facility near Kyiv was one of several logistics and customs hubs targeted in recent attacks on major infrastructure.

The loss is a heavy setback for the young company, which is now working to rebuild its lineup. The strike highlights the broader threat Russian missile barrages pose to warehouses and industrial areas across Ukraine, endangering the operations of consumer brands and small businesses.
