Maybourne Group Names José Silva Chairman

Maybourne has appointed veteran luxury hospitality executive José Silva as chairman to lead its next phase of global growth while preserving the brand's service and guest experience standards.

Silva brings more than four decades of experience across Europe, North America and the Middle East to his new role at Maybourne, the operator of some of the world's most storied luxury hotels. He will be responsible for guiding the group's expansion while maintaining the exceptional standards of service, design and guest experience that define its properties.

He joins Maybourne after a successful tenure as chief executive officer of Jumeirah Group, where he transformed the brand from a regional leader into a prestigious global luxury hospitality name.

Prior to Jumeirah, Silva spent nearly 25 years with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, holding a series of senior leadership positions. Among his achievements, he served as general manager of Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris, where the hotel's restaurants collectively earned five Michelin stars.

Silva later served as regional vice president for Europe, overseeing a portfolio that included France, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal. In that role, he was responsible for strategic planning, operational performance, executive development and ownership relations.

During his time at Four Seasons, he was also named Virtuoso's Hotelier of the Year.
