Julien Farel Returns to U.S. Open for 18th Year of Styling Tennis Stars

Julien Farel is back at the U.S. Open Tennis Championships for the 18th consecutive year, setting up his grooming pop-up inside Arthur Ashe Stadium. The hairstylist and his team from Farel Salon & Spa are on hand to keep players polished both on the court and in front of cameras throughout the tournament.

Over the years, Farel has styled a long roster of tennis icons, including Coco Gauff, Iga Świątek, Aryna Sabalenka, Naomi Osaka, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Taylor Fritz, Patrick McEnroe, Chris Evert and Billie Jean King.

“Players on the circuit have little time to go for grooming and styling,” Farel said. “Our on-site salon offers top New York City luxury pampering services so players can look their best on the court.” He added that his team loves creating tournament styles so athletes can head into interviews with confidence.

One player Farel has yet to work on is Carlos Alcaraz. He was supposed to style the Spanish star last year, but Alcaraz’s brother shaved his head first. Farel said he is hopeful the opportunity will come this year.
