Great Britain & Ireland Triumph at Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup 2026

Great Britain & Ireland secured top honours at the 2026 Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup, held at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 8 August. The annual event brought together an international roster of jockeys and horses for a day of competitive racing and live entertainment.

Dubai Duty Free welcomed a diverse group of guests to the Panoramic Suite in the King Edward VII Enclosure, including representatives from travel retail, media, the horseracing industry and commercial partners. The company’s senior team, including Managing Director Ramesh Cidambi, Senior Vice President Marketing Sinead El Sibai and Senior Manager Marketing Salim Dahma, was present to mark the occasion.

Cidambi described the event as a fabulous renewal and said guests witnessed a thrilling competition in excellent weather and first-class surroundings. He congratulated the winning Great Britain & Ireland team and thanked all participants for their spirit and friendly rivalry.

This year’s Shergar Cup featured a revamped team format, with Team Hong Kong joining Great Britain & Ireland, Europe and The Rest of the World. The addition added a fresh dynamic to the long-running fixture, which continues to showcase the strong partnership between Dubai Duty Free and Ascot Racecourse.
