Flow Engineering raises $50M Series B at $750M valuation for AI hardware design tools
San Francisco-based Flow Engineering has raised a $50 million Series B at a $750 million valuation, co-led by Valor Equity Partners and Atreides Management, with Sequoia Capital participating.
Flow Engineering announced on Wednesday that the round was co-led by Antonio Gracias of Valor Equity Partners and Gavin Baker of Atreides Management. Valor is best known for backing Elon Musk's companies, particularly SpaceX, while Atreides is a hedge fund that has also invested in Musk-led ventures and AI chipmaker Cerebras.
Sequoia Capital, which led Flow's Series A round last October, returned for the Series B. Former Sequoia partner Roelof Botha also took part as an individual angel investor and has joined the company's board.
The three-year-old company, headquartered in San Francisco, builds AI agents aimed at easing hardware design work. The tools automatically align CAD drawings with product requirements, simulation results and other testing data.
Flow lists Anduril, Rivian, Joby Aviation, General Motors PPU, RV Tech, Stoke Space and others among its customers. General Motors PPU is a joint venture between General Motors and TWG Motorsports, while RV Tech is a Rivian and Volkswagen joint venture.
