Evolvending and Canteen Win Nearly 30 Airport Dining Sites at Minneapolis-St. Paul
The partners have secured a concession covering almost 30 automated food and beverage locations at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, with a phased rollout set to begin in January 2027.
The Metropolitan Airports Commission approved the appointment of Evolvending and Canteen on 22 September, awarding the pair a concession under its Automated Retail and Food Service Concessions programme. The deal covers almost 30 locations across the Minnesota gateway.
Starting in January 2027, the two companies will phase in branded food kiosks and automated dining concepts across the airport, drawing on a roster of established restaurant and specialist food names.
Three of the brands in the line-up will make their airport debuts: TGI Fridays, Twisted Taco and Garbanzo. They will be joined by California Pizza Kitchen, Wow Bao, White Castle, The Amish Pretzels and Farmer's Fridge, among others.
Canteen, which is part of Compass Group North America, will act as prime contractor on the programme. Evolvending will supply specialist hot-food vending expertise, equipment and ongoing operational support.
The two partners already work together at Minneapolis-St. Paul International and at other US airports. They described the new concession as notable for the scale of its focus on food-specific automated vending.
