Dua Lipa's Skincare Line With Augustinus Bader Opens First Permanent Boutique in Paris
Dua Powered by Augustinus Bader Science, the skincare brand from Dua Lipa and Augustinus Bader, is opening its first standalone permanent store beside the Palais-Royal in Paris. The 215-square-foot boutique opens on Saturday.
The store, which carries the full name Dua Powered by Augustinus Bader Science, sits behind Augustinus Bader's own Palais-Royal boutique and has its own entrance on the Rue de Beaujolais, along with dedicated staff.
The move follows a series of temporary retail tests. The brand took over the Augustinus Bader boutique next door for a pop-up running from May 27 to June 14, after first setting up a pop-up corner at Selfridges in London from May 14 to 27. That Selfridges presence was later converted into a permanent corner in the department store.
Augustinus Bader cofounder and chief executive officer Charles Rosier said both the pop-up and the permanent Selfridges space performed well. For the Paris pop-up, he said, sales came in slightly above expectations and the response was a big success with heavy footfall.
Rosier said long lines formed in the opening days, drawing visitors from many countries. That response, he explained, pointed to real interest in turning the temporary space into a destination, which led to giving the brand a full-time, separate retail footprint of its own.
The Paris opening adds a dedicated physical retail presence to a brand that until now had reached shoppers through partner doors and short-term spaces.
