Dior Opens House of Dior Flagship on Milan's Via Monte Napoleone
Dior has opened a House of Dior on Via Monte Napoleone in Milan, a three-floor space designed by architect Peter Marino that blends French art de vivre with the city's creative character.
The new address sits inside a historic building on Milan's prime luxury shopping street, with the interior conceived as a multi-sensory environment spread across three floors. Architect Peter Marino led the design, punctuating the scheme with botanical walls, terraces and two inner courtyards that open the store onto the outdoors.
Merchandise is presented amid works of art and designer furniture chosen to echo Milan's creative vibrancy. Ready-to-wear collections share the floors with fine jewellery, perfume and homeware lines.
Dining comes in the form of the Monsieur Dior restaurant, led by chef Enrico Bartolini, described as the most Michelin-starred Italian chef. His tailor-made menu is built around Italian flavours and framed as a meeting point between gastronomy and haute couture.
Marino linked the Milan project to a gardening theme he has carried across Dior's major stores. "Our philosophy since we opened 30, Montaigne Paris is to promote the gardens of Dior with his beautiful gardens, both north and south of France," he said, adding that this project includes two large courtyards and two terraces filled with plants and flowers.
He noted the same approach has been applied in New York and Los Angeles, and said the concentration of greenery in the Italian project stands out. "It's crazy to have four gardens in Milan," he said.
