daa International Wins Contract for VIP Terminal at Washington Dulles
daa International has been awarded a contract to develop, lease and operate a 37,000 sq ft VIP passenger terminal at Washington Dulles International Airport, with initial design visuals showing luxury-led interiors and private security screening.
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority awarded the contract for the terminal, which is set to become the first dedicated VIP facility of its kind serving the Washington metropolitan region. The project is being handled by daa International, part of Irish state-owned daa Group.
The design images show a 37,000 sq ft space using luxury design cues and offering discreet, personalised services. The terminal will include private security screening for domestic and international flights.
Construction is scheduled to take 30 months, after which daa International will operate the terminal under a 20-year term. The company is designing the project in collaboration with global architecture and design firm Corgan.
The award expands daa Group’s North American footprint. Its travel retail business, ARI, was recently selected for the duty-free contract at New York JFK Terminal 4 in partnership with International Shoppes.
