Copacabana Palace Unveils Renovated Pool Wing with 2026 Debut

The legendary Rio hotel has revealed plans for a comprehensive renovation of its Pool Wing and pool area, set to debut in November 2026 as an all-suite retreat.

Following its centenary in 2023, Copacabana Palace, A Belmond Hotel in Rio de Janeiro is preparing to unveil a fully reimagined Pool Wing and surrounding pool area. The project, which will be revealed in November 2026, follows a meticulous 19-month renovation.

The Pool Wing was originally built in 1948 above the hotel's iconic pool and lounging terrace, which have long served as the vibrant social heart of the property. After nearly eight decades, the wing will return as an exclusive all-suite address, with every suite offering a private balcony and most providing views over the famed pool and Copacabana Beach.

The redesign responds to the evolving rhythms of Rio life, from the electric energy of Carnival season to the leisurely pace of poolside days. The new wing aims to offer guests flexibility in how they spend their time, with five floors dedicated to wellbeing and ample opportunity for slow mornings, unhurried afternoons, and evenings immersed in the city's atmosphere.

As the hotel enters its next century, the renovated Pool Wing reinforces Copacabana Palace's longstanding appeal as a destination for travellers seeking both relaxation and the vibrant energy of Rio de Janeiro.
