Cheval Blanc Courchevel to add two private chalets in December 2026

Cheval Blanc Courchevel will open two private chalets in December 2026, bringing a residential model to its luxury hospitality offer in the French Alps. The five- and nine-bedroom properties reinterpret alpine architecture with ochre façades, charred timber and interiors shaped by architect Peter Marino.

Set to debut in December 2026 ahead of the winter 2026/2027 season, the two chalets are designed to complement the original Maison in Courchevel. Their ochre-coloured façades echo the property's signature shade, while charred timber elements interlock in what the design team describes as a modern marquetry effect.

The five-bedroom chalet measures 900 square metres, while the nine-bedroom property spans 1,500 square metres. Expansive windows frame views of La Saulire and the Col de la Loze, and dramatic ceiling heights add to the sense of space. Both chalets offer direct access to the ski slopes.

Amenities include private swimming pools, cinemas, fitness rooms, saunas, hammams and Guerlain massage rooms. The larger chalet adds a double-height swimming pool lit by natural light, a grand salon with two-metre-high fireplaces, music rooms and games spaces fitted with Formula One and multi-sport simulators. It also has a dining room overlooking the landscape with a setting by Vik Muniz, plus a private wine cellar.

Peter Marino oversaw the architecture of the communal spaces, where bespoke furniture sits alongside artworks selected by the architect and pieces by his long-standing collaborators. The interiors feature straw marquetry by Lison de Caunes, landscape frescoes by Brazilian artist Vik Muniz, woven and gilded straw tapestries, designs by René Bidet and geometric paintings by Guy de Rougemont.

The project extends Cheval Blanc Courchevel's footprint in the French Alps with a more residential proposition, combining private accommodation with the services and amenities of an established luxury maison.
