CATL Launches E-Commerce Platform for Direct Energy Storage Sales to Smaller Buyers

CATL has officially launched an e-commerce platform enabling smaller energy storage system makers to purchase directly online, bypassing distributors as domestic competition intensifies.

The platform, unveiled on Friday, allows orders as small as three boxes of CATL's energy storage products, according to a social media post from the company. This move targets smaller energy storage buyers who previously had to go through distribution channels.

CATL, headquartered in Ningde, China, is the world's largest lithium-ion battery producer for electric vehicles and energy storage systems. The company said that more than 1,800 energy storage companies had already used the platform during beta testing.

Small orders placed on the platform are eligible for a five-year quality warranty, the same coverage offered to larger purchasers. Deliveries are promised within three to five days, providing smaller buyers with faster and more direct access to CATL's products.

The direct-to-small-buyer strategy comes as competition among domestic battery makers sharpens. By simplifying the purchasing process, CATL aims to strengthen its foothold in the rapidly expanding energy storage market.
