Bold Eyes, Fringe and Red Lips Take Over the Spring 2027 Runways

The spring 2027 show season, staged across New York, London, Milan and Paris, marked a shift away from understated beauty. As quiet luxury gives ground to more statement-driven fashion, natural hair and makeup are being replaced by louder, more deliberate runway creations.

Eye makeup was the season's dominant category. Pigmented, metallic and glittering gazes appeared repeatedly in key looks, giving makeup artists a focal point at a time when collections leaned toward stronger visual statements.

At Antonio Marras, makeup artist Riccardo Morandin said his long-running collaboration with the house lets him build highly varied looks that mix rock 'n' roll, romantic and craft-rooted codes. Using Kiko Milano products, he sent models out with red lips built from the Club K Pigment Pop pencil and lipstick, then alternated that with sparkling eyes created by layering liquid eye shadow with glitter and metal foils.

Roberto Cavalli followed a similar impulse, with makeup artist Yadim choosing highly pigmented metallic shades to punctuate central looks. The same metallic treatment showed up at Jil Sander.

Taken together, three ideas recurred across the four fashion capitals: bold eyes, fringe and red lips. Each offered a counterpoint to the softer, more natural beauty direction that has dominated recent seasons.
