Barrie Unveils Damien Hirst Capsule of Spot and Butterfly Knitwear

Chanel-owned knitwear house Barrie has launched a collaboration with artist Damien Hirst, spanning numbered zip-up and round-neck knits, hoodie-and-pants sets and a blanket. The pieces are knitted at Barrie's mill in Hawick, Scotland, and roll out through Barrie.

The collection is built around two of Hirst's signature motifs. Zip-up and round-neck styles carry the Spot pattern, each piece individually numbered from 1 to 100 within its colourway, offered in white with multicoloured spots, white with grey spots, and black with multicoloured spots.

A hoodie-and-pants set features the Butterfly motif and comes in white, black, red and green. A blanket completes the range in multicoloured and white versions.

The line is rounded out by a jersey hoodie, scarves, cotton T-shirts and embroidered patches that let wearers personalise and restyle Barrie's knitwear. A separate range of collectibles is described as a playful nod to the souvenirs sold in museum shops.

Barrie said the collection celebrates its heritage and craftsmanship while serving Hirst's creative vision. Production takes place at the company's mill in Hawick, Scotland, where the knitwear is made.

The Barrie + Damien Hirst collection will be sold on Barrie.com and in Barrie boutiques across Europe, Korea and the Americas. It arrives in China, Japan and Taiwan from 10 November.
