Avolta's Hudson Secures 20-Year Duty-Free Deal at Seattle-Tacoma Airport

Avolta has won a 20-year duty-free contract at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport through its Hudson brand, covering more than 2,800sq m of new travel retail space across three concourses.

The award extends Avolta's existing footprint at the US west coast hub, where it already operates travel retail and food and beverage concessions. Hudson will develop the duty-free stores in partnership with local small businesses, spreading them across the A, N and S Concourses.

The retailer said the new offer takes its cues from Seattle and Washington State. Alongside an international duty-free assortment, the plans call for locally sourced foods and gifts, Washington State spirits, dedicated tasting experiences and an exclusive 'Exploring Seattle' retail range developed specifically for the airport.

The programme also leans on entertainment and craft, with live performances by Seattle artists, local product tastings and installations inspired by the city's glass artist.

"This new duty-free offer, coupled with Hudson's emphasis on immersive experiences and digital engagement, will transform the travel experience at SEA," said Steve Johnson, Avolta President and CEO, North America.

The contract runs for 20 years and represents one of the larger travel retail commitments at the airport, spanning a footprint of more than 2,800sq m.
